Hurwitz Law Group publishes every page and post on this website, and these guidelines explain how that content is created, reviewed, and kept accurate. Our firm handles criminal defense and personal injury matters throughout Los Angeles and California.
People who arrive on our site often face a criminal charge or are recovering from a serious injury, and they deserve to know who wrote what they read and how we checked it. Founding attorney Brian Hurwitz reviews all of it before we publish these pages.
Hurwitz Law Group is a Los Angeles law firm representing people charged with crimes and people injured by the conduct of others. Our office is located at 6565 Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, and we appear in courtrooms across Los Angeles County and surrounding counties.
Our firm handles DUI, domestic violence, restraining orders, sex crimes, drug crimes, expungement, assault, felony and federal matters, along with car accident, dog bite, bicycle, pedestrian, and wrongful death claims. Our published content covers that same range of subjects. More background on the firm is available on our about our firm page.
Content is drafted by experienced writers who work directly with our firm, and founding attorney Brian Hurwitz reviews it before publication. That review applies to every page and post on the site, including practice area pages, location pages, blog articles, and resource material.
Attorney review looks at several points. It confirms that legal statements match current California law and that descriptions of court process reflect how cases actually move through local courtrooms. It also confirms that the page sets accurate expectations for the reader.
We brief our writers on the firm's practice areas and on the standards described below. A draft that does not meet them is returned for revision rather than published with a correction planned for later.
We do not accept guest posts, outside contributions, or material submitted by third parties. Nothing is published on our site without attorney approval.
Brian Hurwitz is the founding attorney of Hurwitz Law Group and has more than ten years of criminal defense experience. He practices daily in Los Angeles courtrooms and in the courts of surrounding counties, and that experience shapes how our content describes arraignment, pretrial proceedings, plea negotiation, and trial.
Super Lawyers, The National Trial Lawyers, the National College for DUI Defense, and Martindale-Hubbell have recognized his work with an AV Preeminent rating. The firm has received more than 100 five-star client reviews. His full background appears on his attorney profile.
Our site carries several categories of content, each written for a different reader need:
Every category follows the same review standard regardless of length or format.
Legal information on our site is verified against primary California sources rather than secondary summaries. We apply the following standards to each page:
Where a question has no settled answer under current law, we say so rather than offering a guess.
Most people reading our site have no legal training and are trying to make sense of a situation that has already disrupted their life. We write for that reader.
Legal terms are defined the first time they appear, and acronyms are spelled out in full. We favor plain description over courtroom shorthand, and we explain what a rule means in practice rather than only reciting its text.
Our content does not promise results. No page on our site tells a reader how a case will end. The outcome of a criminal charge or an injury claim depends on the evidence, the facts, and the decisions the court makes.
We also leave out pressure tactics and alarming language. A reader deciding whether to call a lawyer deserves accurate information, not urgency.
California criminal and injury law changes, and a page that was accurate two years ago may no longer be today. We review published content on a recurring schedule and revise it when a statute is amended, a filing deadline changes, or an appellate decision shifts how a rule is applied.
Where a page displays a published or updated date, that date reflects its most recent substantive review. When a change affects the substance of the guidance, we revise the body text rather than adding a note at the end.
We do not sell placement on our site. No company pays to appear in our content, and we do not publish sponsored posts, paid links, advertising, or affiliate material.
When we reference an outside organization or resource, it is because we believe it helps the reader. Editorial decisions are made by our firm alone.
We also keep our informational content separate from our marketing. Pages written to explain the law are not written to sell, and the sections where we describe our own record are identified as exactly that.
If something on our site is inaccurate, outdated, or unclear, we want to hear about it. Corrections can be reported by calling (323) 244-4147 or by reaching us through our contact page.
We review each correction request we receive and respond to the person who raised it. When a factual error is confirmed, we correct the page and leave the corrected information in place for readers.
The material on our site is general information about California law. It is not legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship with Hurwitz Law Group.
Criminal cases and injury claims depend on facts that general content cannot cover. Anyone facing a charge or considering a claim should speak with a lawyer about their own circumstances. Our legal disclaimer explains this in further detail.
Being clear about how we publish is part of how we work with the people who hire us. The attorney who reviews these pages is the same attorney who would handle your matter.
